Phone Calls and Messages

• Preschool teachers will not be available to answer the telephone from 9 to 11:45 a.m.
• Please feel free to leave a message for a teacher to call you back

Communication and Parent Involvement

• Parents will be kept informed consistently through daily conversations with the staff, notes in their folders and a monthly newsletter
• Parents should check the bulletin board in the entryway for information on special events
• An Open House will be held for parents and children at the beginning of the school year
• Parent/Teacher conferences will be held on a per request basis in the Fall and Spring
• Opportunities for parent involvement during the year will be announced accordingly
• Parents are always welcome to visit and observe at anytime

Food and Snacks

• Well-balanced meals and nutritious snacks will be served by Morning Star
• Breakfast is served at 8:00 p.m. A monthly breakfast menu will be provided to those students utilizing our early morning child care program
• Lunches are catered in by Treat America Food Service (formally Swanson Foods)
• Lunch will be served at 12:00 p.m. each day
• A copy of the lunch menu will be in parent folders the first of each month
• Breakfast and snack menus will be posted in each classroom

Birthdays
Birthdays are a special experience for children! Children are welcomed to bring a special snack for birthdays. However, food code requires that all snacks brought from home be store bought as opposed to homemade. We apologize in advance for any inconvenience this may cause.

Parents Group
On Wednesday evenings dinner is served in Fellowship Hall by the Church for a small fee. This is a great opportunity for parents to meet their children’s friends and families.

Daily Sheets
These sheets are filled out on a daily basis for White, Blue, Purple and Green Stars about each child and given to parents at pick-up. These sheets can help parents understand their child’s mood, eating and sleeping habits and special activities while at Morning Star on a daily basis.
