Our parents are so valuable to what we do and what we’re able to achieve here at Morning Star. Our goal is that all of our families are involved and engaged in the children’s day-to-day as well as the our monthly happenings and ongoings.
Parents are encouraged and welcome to contact their child’s teachers with any questions or concerns you might have. During the school day infant teachers are always available to answer phone calls; preschool teachers will not be available to answer the telephone from 9 to 11:45 a.m during the school day, but you are welcome to call the office and leave a message at any time.
Lead Teachers will email parents weekly with upcoming events, lesson plans, bright moments, photos and any possible concerns. Parents are encouraged to reach out to their teachers with non-emergency questions, notes or concerns via email as well. Teachers check their emails periodically throughout the day and try their best to be as responsive as possible when necessary. Each classroom has their own email address:
- White Star – firstname.lastname@example.org
- Blue Star – email@example.com
- Green Star Caterpillars –firstname.lastname@example.org
- Green Star Butterflies – email@example.com
- Purple Star – firstname.lastname@example.org
- Red Star – email@example.com
- Orange Star – firstname.lastname@example.org
The office will send emails with any health concerns, recent diagnosis’ in your child’s classroom or notes of current outbreaks of illness throughout the center.
Each child has a parent folder in their classroom where teachers will occasionally drop in notes or artwork. Parents are encouraged to check their child’s folder frequently to keep up with the classroom activities and the “work” your child is doing. These folders are also a wonderful way for parents to communicate with other parents regarding playdates and birthday events. At the end of each day at pick-up parents will be given a daily sheet. Daily sheets give a brief recap of the child’s day (i.e., what they had to eat and how much, their bathroom patterns, favorite activity of the day and nap times) and are Morning Star’s way of making sure each parent is given an update and ensure that parents are in-the-know.
